Just finished reading (well, again) the Circle Trilogy…and it was SO good!

While I always buy every Nora book there is…even had to resort to buying a few …dare I say it… used so that I could read them all (even the way back when ones), I’ve just now had the chance to finish the Circle Trilogy.

In case you don’t use the trilogy names, here’s the books I’m talking about:

Morrigan’s Cross
Dance of the Gods
Valley of Silence

These three were awesome.  You have a witch, a sorcerer, a demon hunter, a vampire, and two “other worlders” who are also a princess and a shape shifter. These are the most dynamic characters I’ve read from Nora, though I will admit that I was skeptical about reading them at first. I thought it might turn out to be cliched, or worse for me, uninteresting. Who would have thought she’d put a demon hunter and shape shifter together? No Buffy and Angel here! ;-)

I will say that the last book of the series was the best by far. Though I did think that it seemed a bit forced at times (the relationship, not the story itself). I had a time believing the tiny princess turned warrior and the oh, so yummy vamp could really love one another. He was very convincing her…not so much. But I’d definitely read it again and I did love every minute of it.

If you haven’t picked this set up, I’d say it’s not your normal lovely dovey Nora…it’s just a great side of her writing that you’ll miss out on if you don’t.

Until next time,

AJ
