Wow. I love Nora’s books, but with each trilogy of hers that I read (and I’ve pretty much read them all now and still waiting on the next to start!) I am more and more fascinated at how she keeps her characters alive and somewhat unique.
In THE PAGAN STONE, she surprises me again with her dark imagination. It’s full of very disturbing imagery. And I admit after reading some of the reviews on Amazon I was a bit worried I’d be disapointed. I wasn’t.
While the ending is a bit ‘rushed’ and the descriptions and reasonings a bit hard to follow, I still thought the romance (which is why I read them in the first place!) was wonderfully done. A few reviewers mention that they didn’t think the two belonged together, that they didn’t believe their relationship had grown and it was about sex and nothing else, but they’re not seeing the trilogy as a whole. And apparently, they didn’t read the same book I did…with the same discerning eye I did. I saw the subtle changes and the caring develop. It was intense at times, but I believe all the elements of a true HEA were there.
I definitely recommend the book. I hope more readers feel the same as I do. I enjoyed this series a lot, and as with most of her trilogies, she seems to have saved the best for the last.
Until next time,
AJ

I enjoyed this trilogy in particular the Pagan Stone. The content of the trilogies can be repetitive as this was, however, the relationship between all the characters were fantastic. I wish I were part of a group of friends that were that loyal and close to each other.
I read other bloggers elsewhere who hated this trilogy, what were they looking for? I LOVE Nora Robert’s books. Keep on writing Nora and take us to new places especially Ireland.

April,
I so agree! I find that sometimes in trilogies where their learning and trying to figure out what’s going on with a mystery over the length of multiple books you’ll see some heavy repetitive thinking and talking. But it’s all worth it when you have the lovely interaction between the couples and friends.
The best trilogy I’ve seen by Nora that doesn’t do this as much is the Key Trilogy:
